Having an affiliate website is one thing, making money with your affiliate website is another.

I regularly hear people who do have an affiliate website, but have difficulty earning more money with it, and therefore making more affiliate sales.

I thought it would be useful to write an article containing 5 ways to get more affiliate sales from your affiliate website.

So: how can you get more sales from your affiliate website? Read more below:

1): Promote the right product

What can make a huge difference is the product you are promoting.

I often see affiliate sites that don’t promote the right product – even though they think they do. They go way too wide and leave commissions there.

To give you an example:

When you have a site about losing weight, you can go very specific about it. For example, you can have content about low-carb recipes. What I often see happening is that many affiliates promote a general ebook about losing weight.

For example, a better product would be an ebook containing several low-carb recipes. This is much more specific and suits the target group much better.

2): Make a clear Call to Action

It is important to make it clear to the website visitor what he or she should click on. Make your affiliate link clear; put down a clear CTA button.

If a visitor does not need to be urged to take action during or after reading an article, you cannot expect the visitor to do anything.

You must make it clear to the visitor to take an action; make the Call to Action button as clear as possible. As a result, you will get more clicks, and therefore more commissions.

3): Build a mail list

Something that many affiliates ignore is the email list. And that is a shame, because there is so much to be gained there.

In December 2018, by promoting various promotions, I raised about 20K extra with affiliate marketing, purely by sending emails to my mailing lists.

I therefore advise you to start building a mailing list as soon as possible. Create an opt-in page, give away a free ebook and put an autoresponder on it. It’s a bit of work to set up, but when it’s running, you can get a lot of extra commissions and sales.

4): Create content about converting search terms

This is one of the easiest ways to earn more commissions.

Write content about terms where visitors are already on the verge of buying a product. Writing reviews is a very good one, because that way you can reach the near-buyers. The people who search for review terms are people who are already familiar with the product, and are therefore already about to purchase the product.

You can easily get involved here by writing a review. You take the last click and therefore also the commission.

5): Broaden your content

I think it is no longer enough to keep your content on your blog. It is becoming increasingly important to broaden your content.

Think of making videos for YouTube (the second largest search engine!), an Instagram account, Facebook page and more.

Create separate content for each medium. That way you will be found more, and your reach is therefore greater, which in turn means that you get more clicks, and therefore also more commissions. This allows you to build a real brand, which increases conversion.

Bonus Tip:

Keep working on your website

Too often I see affiliates who stop working on their site after a few weeks or months.

They set up a number of articles there, and then they stop. They have enough reasons for this, such as no time, no sense, no motivation and whatever.

If you think like that, it won’t work. The most important thing is to keep going, keep building your site. The power of consistency is and remains gold.

Try to do something for your website every day. This way you build your site a little every day, and your site gets a little better every day. If you do this for a year, great things can happen.

Good luck!
